It’s downright hard to shop for a creative Father’s Day gift. Every year it’s the same. “Get Dad some tools! Get Dad a tie! Dad needs a new grill!” When he already has plenty of those things it seems kind of uninspired. Sometimes you just need to have a little fun with the gift, and this Father’s Day Spy Kit was just that.
Grab a plain white box, your favorite spy movie, plus some movie night goodies such as candy, popcorn, and dad’s favorite soda or drink. Then grab these simple printable labels and bag toppers to really get into the spy theme.
The boxes of candy came from a big bin at the front of the store. The red box is some kind of exploding candy, and the yellow box is one of Dad’s faves – Peanut M&Ms. I also grabbed him a Mountain Dew, which makes a pretty convincing Truth Serum if you ask me. You can pop your own popcorn, or go to the movie theater and buy the good stuff – they’ll let you in if you ask nicely. I used a large Wilton Treat Bag (affiliate link) to hold all that salty goodness.
I used double-sided tape to turn the two movies I bought into a super important video brief. The glasses came from the party section and I just stapled a bag topper right over the existing packaging. My favorite part of the whole thing is the card. I printed out the two pages and placed them in a document folder. It looks so fancy and really pulls the theme together.
I plan on giving it to him at the end of the day so that we can put the kids to bed and watch it together. I know he’ll be excited to have a little impromptu date night in, and I’ll be excited to watch a Chris Pine movie. Oops! I mean, I totally love action movies.
