I can’t believe it. Evelyn, known mostly as “Mini” on this blog, is a year old today.
It’s been one year since I went into the hospital with some gnarly contractions and they let me spend the night so that I could get some rest and have a baby.
A beautiful baby, might add. From the moment she came shooting out of my lady parts, she looked like a little doll. The nurses fawned over her every time they came in to check on us. She was perfect.
She did a lot of sleeping those first few weeks.
At least one of us got some sleep.
She is so expressive, asleep or awake. From smiles to silly faces, to pouty lips. She says it all with a look.
Some faces are sillier than others, of course.
Seeing her grow up over the past year has been absolutely amazing. I wasn’t trying for a girl, but I am so glad I have her. She has changed me in so many ways.
She is strong and determined. She can and will do anything she sets her mind to.
She is so positive. Always happy, always smiling. Always brightening my day. Brightening strangers days, too!
She loves exploring the world around her. We’ve done a lot of traveling in her short year of living and she’s taken it all in, trip by trip.
She loves to eat. I mean, who doesn’t? But she REALLY loves it.
I love her happy, messy, smiley face.
Happy Birthday, sweet Evelyn. I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for you.
