If you follow us on Instagram, you might know that our family recently took a road trip to Las Vegas. We were lucky enough to be provided a 2015 Kia Sedona to use for our trip at no cost to us. Here’s what we thought about it!
When I was planning our fun family road trip to Las Vegas, one of the things I was worried about, was having a reliable vehicle to get me there. Our family van is getting older and it’s not really able to handle long trips anymore. So of course I was super excited when DriveShop offered to let me use a new 2015 Kia Sedona, I knew we would get there safely and comfortably.
I have to admit, my original impression of the Kia Sedona wasn’t the best. My mom had one when I was younger, and I thought it was clunky and uncool. When they dropped this sleek “Multi-Purpose Vehicle” off at my house my mind was changed entirely! I was so excited that I jumped on Periscope to show some of the awesome features off. I uploaded the video to my YouTube account so everyone can watch it, but excuse the quality and the random conversations with the Periscope chatters!
When you’re a mom traveling across state lines by yourself with your kids, you want to stop as little as possible. I’m pretty vulnerable trying to wrangle four crazy kids in and out of a rest stop on my own, and it’s pretty obvious. Luckily, the Kia Sedona was pretty awesome as far as gas mileage goes, so I didn’t have to worry about stopping for gas even once on our way there.
It became almost a challenge for me to try and get as high of an Average MPG as possible, and I managed to get it up to 23 at one point. Pretty impressive for a bigger-sized vehicle!
Even in the heat of the high desert (it got up to 99° at one point!) we stayed pretty cool and comfortable. And the ride itself was as smooth as could be. And in what felt like no time at all, we made it safely to our destination!
She looks good Las Vegas, doesn’t she?
Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about myself. Four kids, two beds, and not nearly enough sleep is a recipe for one tired mommy.
The Kia Sedona SX-L, which is what we drove to and around Vegas, starts at $39,700, and includes amazing features such as power adjusted front and middle seats, manual folding split-bench third row seats, rear ventilation ducts with fan control, remote keyless power door locks, rear parking sensors, auxiliary audio input, USB connections/chargers, UVO eServices telecommunications service, and Bluetooth.
You can test drive this baby at your local Kia dealer, but unfortunately they probably won’t let you take it on a joy ride to Vegas. It doesn’t hurt to ask though!
