When we were planning our road trip this summer, I had one major condition. I wanted a new car.
I know that sounds like a big demand, but we had been discussing it for over a year. My big red minivan was on its last leg, and we had put way too much money into keeping it alive. We had visited several dealerships, test drove many vehicles, but we were trying to make sure we were responsible about this big purchase, so we kept pushing it back and pushing it back. Suddenly, July 1st was around the corner and I brought out the ultimatum. We need a new car or we can’t do this road trip! And on June 28th we stopped at yet another dealership and…
I had my heart set on a 2015 Kia Sedona after driving one to Vegas last year. I finally found one in my price range at a dealership who was willing to get that monthly payment right where I wanted it to be. Being a responsible adult for the win!
With a new car we were set on our trip and excited to get away. But our plans of camping and exploring meant that my shiny pretty vehicle might get a little dirty. Okay, a lot dirty.
But you can enjoy an adventurous trip without having to worry about ruining your vehicle! A little dirt never hurt, right? Bumpy dirt roads, long stretches of driving, extreme heat, windy mountain roads…bring it on! I always make sure to give my car a little extra TLC before and after my trip and then enjoy a stress-free vacation. (Well, besides the getting-my-phone-stolen part of the trip, but we won’t talk about that today.)
Instead, we can talk about how we drove 27 miles down a dirt road to find a state park we’d never heard of, and then 24 more miles on more dirt road to get out of there. Crazy? Maybe. Fun? Totally! Plus, the views at Beaver Dam State Park and the memories we made as a family exploring a creek full of critters were totally worth the long, bumpy drive.
She sure looks great out there in nature, doesn’t she? Because my vehicle takes me on amazing adventures, I like to return the favorite by taking good care of it. One way I can do that is by getting regular maintenance done, like a high-quality oil change at Walmart using Pennzoil Platinum®: Full Synthetic Motor Oil with PurePlus™ Technology.
Pennzoil Platinum® offers complete protection for gasoline engines. The PurePlus™ Technology uses revolutionary gas-to-liquid process that converts natural gas into a high quality fully synthetic base oil. Because the base oil is made from natural gas, it has fewer of the impurities found in crude oil, (which is what is typically used as a base oil for many other traditional and synthetic motor oils.) To that pure, clear base they add in their high performance additives to create a motor oil designed for complete engine protection, without compromise.
We’re not quite to 75,000 miles on the odometer yet, but once we get there, I’ll be switching to Pennzoil® High Mileage Vehicle® motor oil. My husband uses this in his 10 year old car and it is still running great. Pennzoil® High Mileage Vehicle® motor oil helps clean out the sludge lesser oils leave behind, while helping to reduce leaks and oil consumption in worn or higher mileage engines. It’s specifically designed for new or late model vehicles with over 75,000 miles, with the mission of keeping engines running clean and going strong. And, the high mileage oil change at Walmart is currently Rollback ($39.88 normally, down to $35.88 through September 28th!)
Walmart’s Automotive Care Center (find yours here) lets you get your oil changed while you shop. While you’re picking up the essentials for your trip, the experts at Walmart are giving your vehicle the care and maintenance it deserves so you can explore the country without worrying about your car.
So load up the trunk, grab the family, and set off on an adventure before summer ends!
