I can’t believe it! Another school year gone by so fast. This year was definitely the busiest one yet. I thought I was all set with two in elementary and two in preschool, but I somehow filled my time with any extra work I could find and a lot of volunteering. Next year I’ll have four kids on four different schedules (Middle, Elementary, Kindergarten, and Preschool) and I’m both excited and also a little exhausted just thinking about it.
Anyway, this year I signed up to be the room mom for our 5th grade class, and I also had two amazing wonderful co-room moms who picked up a lot of my slack, so I can’t take all the credit for how awesome this year was. We also had a very generous group of parents and kids who were able to make all of our teacher’s gifts this year really special. And she really deserves it!
I only took one picture, because it’s craziness around here! But, It’s a good picture, and I’ll tell you what is inside. I went with the travel theme because our teacher loves to travel. She’s visited and lived all around the world and has told the class all kinds of stories about her adventures. And it was also kind of a play on words, since these kids are embarking on a new adventure of their lives, too. 6th grade!!
I went to TJ Maxx to find travel goodies, because I’ve had great luck there before. I also managed to find the adorable cooler bag to put everything in! If you have more than one evening to shop, I suggest Amazon! (Click the affiliate links below for some awesome finds.)
- Compression Packing/Storage Bags
- Cute Luggage Tags and Coordinating Strap
- Two BIG Leak-proof Water Bottles (This exact one!)
- Discreet Travel Belt (To keep your passport/valuables in)
- Inflatable Neck Pillow
- Travel Containers for Toiletries
In addition to the travel goodies, we filled the bag with tons of travel-friendly snacks. Dried fruits, trail mix, fruit bars, and of course a little bit of chocolate.
To top it all, we had enough money left to gift her a Southwest Airlines Gift Card. She wasn’t even expecting an end-of-the-year gift at all because Teacher Appreciation Day was so recent, so not only was she surprised to get a gift, she was really surprised by what was inside.
You can fill your travel bag with anything you want and customize it to fit your budget and your teacher’s preferences. And if you’d like to borrow my super easy gift tag, here’s the FREE PRINTABLE. (Or click on the graphic below!)
Happy End of the School Year! We made it!
