Hi, I’m Angela!
I’m the mother of these four wild and crazy kids and wife to this also wild and crazy husband.
I’ve been writing since I was able to hold a crayon, but these days I do most of it on a computer. I write for several publications, both online and print, on all different topics, but I enjoy writing about travel more than anything else. If you’re looking for more info on my skills and services as a writer/editor, please check out my Linkedin profile or email me!
I’m creative, but not artsy. I’m outdoorsy but not athletic. I am a wizard with budgeting, and can plan a fun vacation on only a few dollars. (In fact, that’s pretty much how we always do vacations.) But I also have no control over myself when I step into a Target.
I love eating and cooking, instagram, (punk) music, traveling, scary movies, making other people watch scary movies with me, haunted houses, making other people go into haunted houses with me, adventuring, laughing, singing (badly) in traffic, hot sauce, driving fast, being outdoors, and coffee.
I grew up in South Florida, in the famous Florida Keys – Key Largo to be specific. Nowadays I soak up the sunshine on the other side of the country, in Orange County, California. Living here is definitely awesome, but I love to escape to other cities and states as much as possible – with and without my family.
We get along okay.
Andrew and I have been married for 11 years. We met 13 years ago, on the internet of all places. I was living in Las Vegas and trying to make friends on a social networking site called You Suck I Rule. (Yes, for real. No, it doesn’t exist anymore.) He was born, raised, and still living in Orange County, California, and after a couple of months of chatting about music and nothing really special, he messaged me to tell me that he was heading out to Las Vegas with some friends from work and asked if I wanted to hang out. I told him that if I wasn’t already working my very busy job at Blockbuster Video, I’d definitely hang out. I just so happened to have most of the weekend off, we hung out, and the rest is history I guess. (If you want the long and exciting version of our story, check out this post.)
Well over a decade and four kids later, we get along pretty okay. I don’t claim to have any secrets on how to have the best and longest-lasting marriage, but if you like each other and you’re having fun, then you’re probably doing okay too.
I’m definitely not perfect.
I share my #momfails and hot mess moments proudly. I’m not afraid to laugh at myself. I do have a few hacks up my sleeve, and I know how to find a good bargain. I will never claim to be a domestic goddess, but occasionally I have some genius ideas. I look up to Carol Brady, but I’m probably more like Roseanne. (And I love her too.) I’m far from perfect, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I don’t know exactly what kind of story I’m telling, but I can tell you that there’s never a dull moment.
I hope at the very least that you’ll:
- Find inspiration and ideas for awesome travels.
- Feel a little better about not being perfect.
- Find something yummy to try!
