Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA: A Waking Dream of Mexico

Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA: A Waking Dream of Mexico

A few nights ago, we received two tickets from one of our partners, US Family Guide, to check out Cirque du Soleil's LUZIA show at Dodger Stadium. Both my mom and I had never been to a Cirque du Soleil show, so we were extra excited for this! LUZIA takes you to an imaginary Mexico, like in a waking dream, where light ("luz" in Spanish) ...

5 Holiday Specials You’ll Actually Want to Watch with Your Kids

Ah, the holidays. Time for laughter, cheer, giving, music, and non-stop holiday specials and movies on your television. Our kids get a little extra into Christmas, wanting to listen to Christmas music non-stop, doing every single foam Christmas craft that Michael's carries, hanging up their handmade decorations all over my house with masking tape, ...

Get Stinky, Get Dirty, and Make Some Mistakes!

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Kid Vuz. We were invited to attend an event to preview the show and were asked to share our opinions. A new children's show has hit Amazon Prime Video, and it's teaching kids a really important lesson. It's okay to make mistakes! ...

Is The Jungle Book too Scary for Kids? Know Before You Go!

Is The Jungle Book too Scary for Kids? Know Before You Go!

This past Monday I attended a screening of The Jungle Book in 3D. First of all, if you're going to see it, 3D makes all the difference. I mean, if you don't like becoming completely immersed in the movie you're watching then by all means, watch it in plain old 2D.ย Anyway, to this screening I did not bring my children. I scrutinized the trailers and ...

  • We aimed to have a fun family hike this morning and it turned into a fun exploration adventure. A little over halfway down the trail we realized that we were right by the monastery, so we ditched our plans and hiked their shrine trail instead. It's a gorgeous trail with different religions represented along the way.
Four miles and I don't even know how many uphill climbs later, we were finally back to the car. The kids will hopefully sleep well tonight! The adults too!
  • Fashion tip from Evelyn: You can never have too much pink or too many stripes.
  • Free hot chocolate for kids might just be the best rainy day perk ever! Thank you, In-N-Out!

  • When it comes to getting kids to eat veggies, my best advice is to show them the whole process, from growing, to harvesting, to prepping, to cooking! Let them be as involved as possible and they will be excited to try new things! At Evelyn's field trip yesterday, she got to pick radishes, turnips, green onions and cilantro. She got it in her head that she wanted to make vegetable soup, and I said, "let's do it!" She picked out some broccoli from the store, and added some carrots, celery, and cauliflower from the fridge to the veggies she picked at the farm. (Minus the radishes!) She helped wash, cut, and cook everything. She even tasted (and enjoyed) all the veggies raw while we were chopping them. The result of all of her hard work was a delicious pot of soup that we both got to enjoy together today for our lunch.

  • So incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of this sweet and beautiful woman, @kyrzayda_. We connected at a Kia Motors event last summer and I loved her excitement and zest for life. She truly left a mark on everyone who met her. She will be greatly missed. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’–
  • It's finally her day!! First day of the big kid class, TK (transitional kindergarten) and her last year at this preschool! She's so excited to be a big kid.
