Herbed Chicken Wings Recipe

Herbed Chicken Wings Recipe

Man do I love chicken wings. (Flats only for me, though.) Buffalo, BBQ, Lemon Pepper, even bare naked wings. I love them all. I had never made chicken wings from scratch before creating this recipe, but how hard could it be? Cook up some chicken wings, toss them in a sauce, throw them on a plate, right? Pretty much. Except, it turns out that they ...

Easy Camping Meal: One-Pot Spaghetti Recipe

Easy Camping Meal: One-Pot Spaghetti Recipe

My family really loves camping. And not just any kind of camping, like legit sleep-in-a-tent-on-uncomfortable-solid-ground camping. We try to go on a few trips a year since it's a pretty frugal way to vacation. We throw our camping totes, sleeping bags, and tent in the van, fill up a cooler and go. I try to keep the meals simple because I don't ...

Easy Grilled Broccoli Recipe

Easy Grilled Broccoli Recipe

I love broccoli. I love it steamed, sauteed, stir-fried, roasted, and even raw. But my absolute favorite way to eat it is right off the grill. I grill pretty much anything I can, especially veggies. Broccoli is great because it holds together well and doesn't fall through the grate. I add a secret ingredient to my broccoli and once you try it you ...

Delicious Caprese Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

Delicious Caprese Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

One of my favorite things about summer is the abundance of fresh tomatoes. I can't seem to keep a tomato plant alive, but I can buy those juicy red suckers like there's no tomorrow. I love a good Caprese salad, but it doesn't seem to be a popular choice among the rest of family. Regardless, I wanted to do something with it that was a little ...

  • We aimed to have a fun family hike this morning and it turned into a fun exploration adventure. A little over halfway down the trail we realized that we were right by the monastery, so we ditched our plans and hiked their shrine trail instead. It's a gorgeous trail with different religions represented along the way.
Four miles and I don't even know how many uphill climbs later, we were finally back to the car. The kids will hopefully sleep well tonight! The adults too!
  • Fashion tip from Evelyn: You can never have too much pink or too many stripes.
  • Free hot chocolate for kids might just be the best rainy day perk ever! Thank you, In-N-Out!

  • When it comes to getting kids to eat veggies, my best advice is to show them the whole process, from growing, to harvesting, to prepping, to cooking! Let them be as involved as possible and they will be excited to try new things! At Evelyn's field trip yesterday, she got to pick radishes, turnips, green onions and cilantro. She got it in her head that she wanted to make vegetable soup, and I said, "let's do it!" She picked out some broccoli from the store, and added some carrots, celery, and cauliflower from the fridge to the veggies she picked at the farm. (Minus the radishes!) She helped wash, cut, and cook everything. She even tasted (and enjoyed) all the veggies raw while we were chopping them. The result of all of her hard work was a delicious pot of soup that we both got to enjoy together today for our lunch.

  • So incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of this sweet and beautiful woman, @kyrzayda_. We connected at a Kia Motors event last summer and I loved her excitement and zest for life. She truly left a mark on everyone who met her. She will be greatly missed. 💔💖
  • It's finally her day!! First day of the big kid class, TK (transitional kindergarten) and her last year at this preschool! She's so excited to be a big kid.
